What we collect

Your email address, and only if you choose to type it in to unlock your prompts. A mobile number too, but only if you add one — it's optional and you get the same results either way.

We also record completely anonymous usage events — which step of the wizard was reached, and the tap-only answers you gave (apps you use, rough match numbers, what you find hardest). These are tied to a random session ID that is thrown away when you close the tab. They are never linked to your email address, and there is no way for us to work backwards from them to you.

What we never collect

No photos. The images you drop in are previewed in your browser and never uploaded anywhere.

No names, no dating profile content, no location, no contacts, no payment details.

How your email is kept

Your contact details never touch the browser's database connection. They go to a locked server-side handler that validates and stores them in a table the public app can neither read nor write. Only we can access it, from a locked admin connection.

They are stored separately from your answers. Nothing you tap is ever attached to your email or number, so even we cannot reconstruct who said what.

We only email or text you about the things you ticked at the unlock screen, and you can untick or unsubscribe whenever you like. We will never sell, rent or hand your details to advertisers, partners or anyone else.

Working with dating apps and partners

We may share aggregate, anonymous insight with partners — things like 'this many people this week said chats die after three messages', with small groups suppressed so nobody can be singled out. It is counts and trends only.

Individual answers, emails and phone numbers are never included, never sold and never passed on. If a partner ever has an offer for you, we send it ourselves — they don't get your details.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your email address and phone number at any time and we'll remove it, no questions and no retention. Email hello@ditchthefish.app and it's done.

Terms, in plain English

Ditch the Fish is free, and it's coaching — not a guarantee. We'll tell you what tends to land with women and what tends to make them swipe left, but what you do with your profile is your call and your responsibility.

The advice is built around one rule: tell the truth. Using our prompts to present a version of yourself that isn't real defeats the whole point, and she'll clock it within nine days anyway.

The demo photos in the audit are licensed stock images of real people, used to illustrate what works. They are not our users.
